Miss Maartje Horsten from the Netherlands volunteered at Horizon Lanka Foundation in December 2017 and in January, 2018.
Mr. Rene Voss from the Netherlands met Mr. Nanda Wanninayaka, the Chairman of Horizon Lanka Foundation and both visited Horizon Academy, Tantirimale and Mahawilachchiya on June 19, 2017 on a fact-finding mission to see if the organization is suitable to be provided volunteer teachers of English and ICT from the Netherlands for the benefits of the children in the organization.
Having been impressed by the project, Mr. Voss decided to send Dutch volunteers from Sri Lanka Active, the volunteer organization founded by him to Horizon Lanka from December, 2017. The first batch of volunteers will arrive in Sri Lanka in December and will volunteer at Horizon Academies, Mahawilachchiya, Tantirimale and Anuradhapura.
