Sri Lankan Public School Girls’ Uniforms

Sri Lankan Public School Girls’ UniformsWe in Sri Lanka have a beautiful school uniform for girls. It has two parts sewn together. The top part is like a shirt. The bottom part is like a skirt. It is pure white in color. So, we have to wear all undies also white. We have been assigned to wear white uniforms because we are living in a tropical island. Tropical countries are hotter.

We also wear a necktie with our uniform. The color of the necktie differs from school to school. We in Thakshila Public School wear red neckties. When we wear the school uniform we arrange our hair in two plaits.  That hair style is amazing.

We clean our uniforms every day. Because it becomes dirty due to the dust in our part of the country. I can do the washing, drying and pressing by myself. The bottom part has a lot of creases.

We get money from the government to buy one set of uniforms. But we have to buy another one or two. It is good to have an equal uniform for all of us schooling in Sri Lanka. But the private schools have different uniforms. We have seen schools in some countries have no uniforms and the girls wear what they are comfortable in.
