Encouraged by his students, Mr. Nandasiri Wanninayaka (Wanni) began giving them after school lessons in English under his mango tree at home. His vision for these children was to see them excel and with this motivation, he set about changing their lives by bringing ICT to the small rural village of Mahavilachchiya. Starting with only a computer, his efforts have brought a computer lab, Internet access and a telephone coverage to the village. (This was a village with limited electricity and NO telephone coverage) His success can be seen in the growth of the Foundation from 1998 from 20 students to over 100 now. He has creatively brought to life schemes and projects to aid the children and the community.
